More Light on Corot's Evening Modes. 1934.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Tatler, March14th, 1934," showing "More Light on Corot''s Evening Modes."

A Wisp of material in the hands of Corot, that well-knoen artist in dress of 33, OLd Bond Street, becomes a lovely evening frock.  She interprets fashion in her own inimitable way ; three examples are portrayed. The model in the centre of the pageon the left isof Egyptian conception and isknown by name of Queen of the Nile.  As will be seen the waist-line is lower, while the brace and independent yoke effect are decidedly original.   Two views are given of the Pink chiflon dress on the right.; important features are the high neck, the hiatus at the back, and the hand-made shaded flower sleeves.  The printedensemble on the left is a triumph ;  the ground is white, and the flowers are expressed in tropical shades.  The colour scheme is reversed in the decorative wraplet ; it crosses at the back, the sleeves finishing with Velasquez rouleaux..

Condition is Very Good.
