Outside the very fashionable hunting centres there is a wide choice of countries where the hunting man whose means are moderate can enjoy excellent foxhunting at quite a modest cost.  The South Devon is just such a Hunt, for the subscriptions are not high, and the sport, over moorland, pasture, plough, and woodland country, with little or no wire is excellent.  The days of meeting are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The best centre is Newton Abbot.
