Peterfamilias having had his electrophone switched onto the Derby Racecourse this year assembles his family  to enjoy the historic race away from the dust and the crowd.

1- They're off'.  a mild but pleasanty exciting sensation Suffuses them.
2- Coming up thr hill.  A Dark Horse well to the fore'- Paterfamilias who is on the favourite feels glum.
3- The Thunder of the hoofs coming down the hill somewhat deafening.
4- "Round Tattenham corner the favourite beat'" Papandolorous- Harry, who is on everything but the favourite- proportionately jubilant.
5- "Coming up the straight favourite being ridden hard but drawing up. intense excitement.
6- "Close on the winning post  Frantic excitement - who's won? eh-what ?  CUT OFF !!!.
