   a- The horror of Thomas Armstrong, the young clergyman, on discovering that Margherita Cavallini, the prima donna with whom he has fallen violently in love, has been the mistress of Van Tuyl.  (Mr. Owen Nares, Miss Doris Keane, and Mr. A. E. Anson.)

   b- The prima donna in her tantrums.  Her admirer and her Maid are tempting her to eat some Supper.  (Mr. Anson, Miss Keane, and Miss Gilda Varesi.)

   c- A Church v. Stage Problem. The kovers m Cavallini and Thomas Armstrong, in each other's arms.

   d- Thomas Armstrong (Mr. Nares), on coming to Cavallini to bring her to repentence for her past life, in overcome per his own passion, and declares he cannot leave her.  The prima donna, however, rises to the occasion and dismisses him.

  e- Forty years later.- Thomas Armstrong, now a bishop, listening to the air from "Mignon" he had heard Cavallini sing in her youth.  He tells his own story to his grandson to warn the boy from marrying the actress with whom he is infatuated, but the grandson sees nothing in the story to interfere with his own marriage.
