An Interrupted Romance at the Louvre. 1889.

For Sale is a 3/4 page removed from"The Graphic, September 28th, 1889," showing a short illustrated story by V. A. Poirson called "An Interrupted Romance at the Louvre."

  a- Paul Veronese-Greene, a Parisian Art-Student, resolves to go in for legitimate art at the Louvre, and is not wholly unbiassed in his choice of a subject to copy.
  b- An aquaintanceship is speedily formed. She begins to borrow his colours.
  c- And he criticises her work.  Neither of them notices the elderly Serpent in the corner of the room.
  d- But here is the result of his machinations.  In future Monsieur accompanies Madame and she borrows Paul's colours no more.
  e- He might have borne that, but this is the unkindest cut of all :  the Serpent exults.

Condition is Very Good, with one light foxing spot.
