   a- The board meeting of the Trenartha Tin Plate Works Company.- The directors have met to receive the strikers' deputation, and their grim chairman (Mr. Norman McKinnel), who sits at the head of the table, has the others-all timorous mortals-entirely under his thumb.  He has fought the men four times, and won each time. Give way, he says, and you simply change places with them.
   b- Some of the women who are suffering from the strike.- The young woman, Madge Thomas (Miss Esme Beringer), who is seen on extreme left, is all for stopping the war for the sake of the hungry children.  Nearest the door is sitting the strike-leader's invalid wife (Miss Dora Barton), who, although dying from want, still warms with admiration of her husband's ability and courage.
   c- The strike-leader, David Roberts (Mr. J. Fisher White), who has given his whole fortune of £700 to the funds, lashing the yielding spirits of his followers to continued resistance.  "The fight of the country's body and blood against a "bloodsucker." Roberts is called from the platform by the news of the death of his wife, and, in his absence, the men throw him over.
