Few people realise the care and patience involved in turning out the finished article for the ranks from raw material.  Every horse learns in the end to answer to the merest suggestion of hand or leg or a combination of the two for the more complicated movements, and the result, when seen in the figures of a musical ride, is, especially to those versed in the niceties of horsemanship, a very pleasing spectacle.  The Naval and Military Tournament affords one an opportunity to see the cavalryman at his best, and at the same time to help that very deserving institution, the Sailors' and Soldiers' Orphanages.  Charity or no charity, however, the Tournament at Olympia always holds its own as value for money and as one of the best shows of the London season.
