   a- After the murder of the traitor thief, Mr. Gilder's solicitor tries to extort a confession from Margaret (Miss Wdyth Goodall), who belongs to the gang, and he has placed a reporter behind a screen to take down the conversation.  Margaret detects the reporter's presence by menas of a hand-mirror. (as shown in illustration no. 3.)
   b- Miss Mabel Russell as Agnes, a cheeky young outlaw, snapping her fingers at an officer from Scotland Yard, whom she has outwitted.
   c- Margaret's interview with Mr. Gilder's unscrupulous solicitor - (Mr. E. Lyall Swete).- Catching sight of the concealed shorthand reporter in her hand-mirror.
   d- The cause of Margaret Taylor's downfall.- Mr. Gilder's underpaid shopgirl, Margaret (Miss Goodall), falsely accused of theft, is confronted, in the presence of her master and his solicitor, with the shop detective who had found the stolen goods in her locker.  She is tried and sentenced to imprisonment, and on her release determines, while keeping within the law, to be avenged on society.
