   a- Jenny Gibson (Miss Hilda Trevelyan) reading her grandfather's will to Lady Worth (Miss Lottie Vanne) and the latter's niece, Marjorie Grey (Miss Jessie Winter), Under this will Jenny inherits her grandfather's shop for the sale of live animals, and the document also bequeaths an assortment of the brute creation to Lady Worth herself, as she had always supported "Our Dumb Friends' League."  Jenny has brought the animals along to save time, much to her ladyship's embarrassment, especially as she is only just beginning to realise that the league in question refers to animals, and not people.
   b- Dog worship.- Jenny has taken for a partner in the shop Jim Wilson (Mr. C. M. Hallard), and as the pair of them both love the animals to distraction, and Jim refuses on this account to sell anything but the snakes, the concern is fast going bankrupt.  They are here seen admiring a terrier for which a member of the public has dared to make an offer.  Jenny and Jim also love each other, but this is not discovered until a more convenient hour for the authors.
   c- Blackmailers laying their plans.-  Guppy, the shop assistant (Mr. Edmund Gwenn), is told by railwayman Dench (Mr. William Rokeby), that Jim Wilson had been rescued from suicide by him and his mates, and not by the son of Lady Worth, a self-advertising M.P. who had claimed the credit.  In the end, however, the House of Commons man is one to many for the Guppy-Dench combine.
   d- Guppy and his mistress, Jenny, at work in the shop.
