   a- In the kitchen at Dot's home, where, at the instigation of Bella, Dot and Mabel hatch a conspiracy to start a sporting tipsters' agency, as they are engaged to two impecunious young men, and desire to raise enough money to permit of their marrying.  The chambers of one of their lovers are to be borrowed as an office for the receipt of letters, the owner being told that they are wanted for charade rehearsals.

   b- In "Fitz's" chambers.- at the instigation of one of the 5,000 infuriated backers, the innocent "Fitz" is, in his own rooms, accused of fraud, handcuffed, and taken off to the police station.  The floor is strewn with tell-tale letters from the trusting public to "The Major," which is the trade name of Dot and Mabel.
