"The Indecision of Mr. Kingsbury," at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. 1906.

   a- The hesitating Mr. Kingsbury (Mr. Charles Hawtrey) cannot even decide about wall-paper without spinning a coin : "Heads, terra cotta; tails, yellow.  Tails!"
   b- About one thing, however, he is decided,  viz., that he is not in love with Jane Chatterleigh (Miss Maud Wynter), the girl he is expected to marry.  Colonel Chatterleigh (Mr. Sydney Valentine) : "Arthur, my boy, you're shy.  You're afraid to broach the subject.  I'll broach it for you."
   c- But instead of marrying Jane Mr. Kingsbury has fallen in love with Mrs. Dutch (Miss Nina Boucicault), a gay widow of uncertain reputation, and the moment has now come when he must choose between her and his mother.
   d- After marrying the merry widow, the serpent creeps into Mr. Kingsbury's household in the form of M. Fouchard (Mr. Gordon-Lennox), who makes love to his wife.
   e- The usual domestic quarrel ensues, and Mr. Kingsbury leaves his wife to return to his mother (Miss Fanny Brough).
   f- Arthur's mother contrives to re-unite the married couple, and the reconciliation is really brought about by the husband suddenly showing great determination and strength of mind, thereby banishing the contempt in which his wife (who wished to be controlled) has always viewed him for his indecision.  Lady Helena :  " And now,  my, children,  I expect you've got an appetite for dinner."
