"Shore Acres," The Drama of the Cornish Coast, at the Waldorf Theatre. 1906.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, June 2nd, 1906," showing the 3 Pictures from "Shore Acres," the Drama of the Cornish Coast, at the Waldorf Theatre.

Our first picture shows Martin Barron (Mr. Edmund Maurice)  surprising his daughter Helen (Miss Alice Crawford) with her lover, Sam Warren (Mr. Frank MIlls), whose suit he does not favour.  The intolerable treatment of Helen by his tyrannical father finally drives her to escape to sea with Sam, whereupon the father, seeing nothing but guilt in his daughter's flight, endeavours, by refusing to restore the failing lamp in the lighthouse, to wreck the lovers' vessel.  This leads to a struggle between Martin and his elder brother Nathamiel (Mr. Cyril Maude). and although the "good uncle Nat" is at first overthrown, as shown above, he takes advantage later of the dour Martin's exit into the night and storm, to fly up the staircase and restore the warning light.

Condition is Very Good.
