British Prisoners Waiting for Release : The Camp at Noigedacht Station on the Delago Bay Line. 1900.

For Sale is a Double Page removed from "The Graphic, August 11th, 1900," showing a Drawing by Frank Dadd, R.I., from a Sketch by Lieutenant Essex Capell, one of the Prisoners, showing "British Prisoners Waiting for Release :  The Camp at Noigedacht Station on the Delagoa Bay Line."

Lieutenant Capell, in sending us the Sketch from which our drawing was made, writes :- "I was taken prisoner at Scheeper's Nek, near Vryheid, on May 20, in an atempt to bring a wounded trooper out of action.  I had mounted him on my own horse, but the Boers surrounded me, shot my horse, took me prisoner, and sent me here, where about 900 prisoners of war are enclosed in a large barbed wire fence, and are having rather a rough time.  The prisoners consist principally of the Gloucesters and Irish Fusiliers, taken at Nicholson's Nek and Modder Spruit.  Mr. Graham correspondent of the Central News, is here, and about to be released, and by his kind favour i hope you will receive this Sketch."
