The Great Fire at Ottawa : Montreal to the Rescue. 1900.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Graphic, May 19th, 1900," showing a Drawing by John Nash, R.I., from a sketch by F. E. Bawden, showing "The Great Fire at Ottawa :  Montreal to the Rescue."

The fire which practically wiped out the city of Hull and destroyed a large portion of Ottawa broke out at 11 o'clock in the morning on April 26.  In the high wind the flames soon got beyond the control of the firemen, and it was determined to send to Montreal for assistance.  This was readily and promptly granted.  A special train was arranged for, which brought up nine firemen, two steamers, a waggon of hose and six horses.  The men were at work by six o'clock, and did good service."
