The Return of the Duke of Cornwall : The Welcome of the Agents-General. 1901.

At 12.26 p.m. on Saturday the royal train steamed into Victoria Station, where the 3rd Coldstream Guards were drawn up as a Guard of Honour.  Lord Salisbury, Mr. Chamberlain, and Lord Lansdowne were on the platform, and the Duke of Norfolk as Mayor of Westminster presented an address of welcome from the Westminster City Council, while another, as shown in the picture, was presented by Sir Andrew Clarke, Agent-General for Victoria, on behalf of the colonial agents-general.  The King and Lord Roberts then inspected the guard of honour.  At the far end was a group who had been generally overlooked-half a dozen Sikh Sepoys clad in well-worn Khaki, two of them sitting on chairs with wooden crutches in their arms.  Towards these bearded veterans the King turned, and nodding and smiling pleasantly he listened to the recital of their achievements in the Ashanti War made by the Commander-in-Chief standing by his Majesty's side.  Then the King entered his carriage, and in company with the Duke of Cornwall and Prince Edward of York he drove out of the station.  A storm of cheering rose from the multitude outside as the King's carriage reached the open, but even this was exceeded when the Queen with the Duchess of Cornwall drove off.
