The Grandson of the Late Lord Tennyson : And a Dog which went through the South African War. 1901.

For Sale is a Full Page Drawing removed from "The Sphere,October 5th, 1901," showing a Drawing by A Pearse for "The Grandson of the Late Lord Tennyson : And a Dog which went through the South African War."

This picture, Sketched in Adelaide from life by our special artist, Mr. Pearse, who accompanied the Duke of Cornwall to Australia, shows the Late Lord Tennyson's grandson, the Hon. Harold Courtnay Tennyson, who is the youngest son of the present peer and was born in 1896.  The dog, "Nelson," by whom he is standing, went through the African campaign with the first Australian contingent.  The dog was twice wounded and twice taken prisoner, but found his way back to our lines.
