Original Costumes for Gentlewomen - Early Autumn Gowns. 1891.

For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Gentlewoman, September 5th, 1891," showing the Following 4 Fashion Drawings by Vincent for "Original Costumes for Gentlewomen - Early Autumn Gowns."

1- Represents a Princess dress of black, brown, and blue checked tweed.  It fastens right down one side, outlined with a narrow brown silk gimp, which trimming is sewn down each seam, and forms an effective finish to the wide revers and gauntlet cuffs of brown velvet.
2- Which is of Princess shape at the back, is made of black serge, with a plain petticoat and inner waistcoat of a black and white plaid, and a small gathered silk shirt of soft white silk.
3- Represents a costume of a royal blue foule striped with black.  The bodice, which is straight on the shoulders, fastens down one side under a trimming of black passementerie, and has full basques of silk fringe.  The skirt has a row of the passementerie down it arranged to carry out the line of the bodice.
4- Is made of heliotrope cloth.  The plain skirt is bordered with a trellis work of black velvet ribbon, while the short Zouave is trimmed to match it, and buttons with velvet tabs across an under bodice of white cloth.

Reverse side shows the weekly Article "Famous People i have Met," written by Mrs. George Augustus Sala. This week the person is "Mr. J. L. Toole."
