1- John James Ferris.
TURNER and FERRIS were names to conjure with at one time in cricket.  Between them they contributed to give New South Wales the Premiership in Intercolonial cricket for more than one season.  The latter's bowling with the Australian Team in England in 1886, was second to that of C. T. B. TURNER.  Even as it was, he delivered 2222 overs and took 220 wickets at an average of a little over 14 runs.  A medium pace left-hand arm bowler with a very peculiar run and puzzling delivery, he is at times very difficult to watch.  Though not at all, he makes the best use of his height, and is able to break both ways.  Was at his best singularly effective.  Having settled in Bristol, has played lately for Gloucestershire, but singularly with more success as a batsman than a bowler.  Is left-handed in batting as well as bowling.

2- Gregor McGregor.
If a Scotchman by birth, GREGOR McGREGOR'S reputation as a Cricketer has been based on an English Foundation.  Trained at Uppingham, under the watchful eye of H. H. STEPHENSON, and matured in the higher school of Cambridge University, he had the double advantage of skilful tuition as well as of the best class of experience.  As a wicket keeper during the last few years has hardly had a superior, either among Amateurs or Professionals.  In proof, it need only be stated that he has played for England against Australia.  Has played three-quarter back for Scotland, too, and with conspicuous success.  If not a first-class batsman, has on occasions batted well for Middlesex, for which he is qualified by residence.

Condition is Very Good.
