1- Arthur Dick Pougher.
If only just thirty years of age, POUGHER has a record of ten years' good work in County Cricket.  His first appearance for Leicestershire was at the Oval, in May, 1885, and against Surrey, who have since furnished him with the opportunity for several of his best bowling performances.  The Surrey Eleven have three times made an inglorious show at Leicester, and in each case POUGHER has been the chief cause of a remarkable collapse.  His record for Leicestershire has been one of continuous and exceptional success. A right-hand bowler of fairly good pace, he has the advantage of a high delivery, this, with a break back makes him, when the wicket helps at all, very effective, varying his pace, too, very cleverly and always a good length, he sends in occasionally a slower ball coming from leg, which makes him additionally difficult.  A useful batsman at all.
