1- Brooke Travers has, to avoid arrest, agreed to impersonate Col. Bowie, and carries out the plan to the extent of kissing Mrs. Bowie, to the disgust of that lady and the contempt of Lucy Sheridan, whom Travers loves.  Brooke Travers (Mr. William Collier) kissing Mrs. Bowie (Miss Grace Hadsall) : "Don't call me John, call me Jack!"
2- The Deck of the steamer Bolivar, Harbour of Porto Banos.
3- Miss Marie Doro, as Lucy Sheridan, in love with Brooke Travers.
4- Brooke Travers (alias "Steve Hill," and temporarily posing as the American Consul at Porto Banos), makes his inaugural address to the reigning president of Porto Banos, in ignorance of the latter's murderous designs, while the vengeful Juanita (Miss Ada Dwyer) watches him with drawn dagger.
