For Sale is a Full Page removed from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, November 16th, 1912," showing Drawings by Frank Southgate, called "The Bird Which Lays the Golden Egg.- Peewit, Lapwing, and Green Plover."

Peewit, lapwing, and green plover are about equally used to designate the bird which lays the eggs do beloved of the gourmet.  Peewit is derived fron its call, lapwing from its ordinary flight, and green plover from the general colour of its back.  In Scotland its call caused it in Covenanting times to be dubbed Devil's Fowl, since it often gave a hint to pursuers of the whereabouts of a refugee on the moors.

Condition is Very Good.
