The Installation of Prince Oscar of Prussia in the First Regiment of the Guards at Potsdam. 1898.

At the annual parade of the Potsdam garrison in the grounds of Potsdam Castle, the German Emperor presented his fifth son, Prince Oscar, to the Officers of the First Regiment of the guards and appointed him a second lieutenant of the Regiment. On Prince Oscar, who will be ten years of age on July 27, the Emperor further conferred the Order of the Black Eagle.  The march past of the troops was witnessed by the Emperor, the Empress, and the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Greece, and five sons of the Emperor took part in it as Officers of the First Guards Regiment.
