The Royal Dublin Horse Show. 1908.

For Sale is a Full Page from "The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, September 5th, 1908," showing Six Photographs from "The Royal Dublin Horse Show."

Reverse side shows a Drawing by Lionel Edwrads called "War's Alarms." - A Stag among the Territorials."

It is reported that the opening days of this season of the Devon and Somerset Staghounds were maarked by the unusual scene depicted above, when the camp of Territorial soldiers on Anstey Common was suddenly invaded by a hunted stag, which dashed madly through the lines, closely pursued by hounds.  In any case, the incident is not without precedent, since a similar scene was witnessed by the artist in 1902, when a stag ran through a camp of volunteer artillery at Minehead.
