      a- He invites them to a Supper of Bread and Cheese. He notices that one eats the rind of her Cheese. She is nasty. Another cuts it off thickly. She is, alas, too wasteful. But the third one frudently scrapes her Cheeese.

      b- To this prudent and frugal girl he offers his hand and heart.

      c- They pair off.

      d- He consults his housekeeper, who naturally resents the intrusion of a wife, and vows the artful minx knows what she is about.
