The German Emperor at Shorncliffe - Inspecting the Royal Dragoons. 1902

For Sale is a Full Page Print taken from "The Sphere, November 15th, 1902," showing a Drawing by Ernest Prater called "The German Emperor at Shorncliffe," showing him "Inspecting the Royal Dragoons."

It was in a wild storm that the Emperor reviewed the Royal Dragoons at Shorncliffe on Saturday. After the inspection he made a speech and concluded by calling for three cheers for His Majesty King Edward VII. Suiting the action to the word, and setting the example, the Kaiser cheered, and then all the troopers, taking off their helmets, most loyally and heartily seconded, raising three long and loud hurrahs. Lord Basing thanked the Kaiser and called for three cheers more for their colonel-in-chief. Instantly helmets were again taken off and held aloft, the troopers with equal zest cheering again. The Kaiser then proceeded to present the senior officer of each rank with decorations, saying a word or two to each happy recipient. He afterwards lunched with the officers and then went to Sandringham.
