The Ladies Gallery in the House of Commons. 1907

For Sale is a Full Page taken from "The Sphere," June 8th, 1907 showing a Drawing by Arthur Garratt called "The Ladies Gallery in the House of Commons : A Point where we are behind Finland."

This picture is particularly interesting at the present time in view of the fact that the Finnish diet has just opened with nineteen women on the floor of the House instead of being confined to the caged gallery where the daughters of England perforce must sit when they visit Parliament. The Ladies' Gallery at St. Stephen's has worked for a long time fairly well, but during the last few months it has been the battleground of the women who wish to get votes, and the authorities of the House have had to keep a close eye on the visitors.
