For Sale is a Full Page taken from "The Sphere," March 2nd. 1907, showing a Portrait called "A Daughter of The Proud Medicis," showing "A Portrait now on Exhibition at the Dowdeswell Galleries."

The Princess Claude was the daughter of Ferdinand I. of Tuscany and the sister of Cosmo de Medici II. of Tuscany. She married the Archduke Leopold of Tyrol (died 1632), the brother of Ferdinand II. of Austria and of Margaret, wife of Philip III. of Spain. They had a son, Ferdinand Charles, whose daughter, Claude, married the Emperor Leopold I. (1658 1705). This picture was painted by Justus Stettermans (born at Antwerp 1597), who was court painter to the Princess Claude's brother, Cosmo II., and to her grandnephew, Cosmo III. In 1623 Settermans went to Vienna to paint the portraits of the Emperor and Empress.
