For Sale is a Full Page taken from "The Sphere," January 5th, 1907, showing a Picture of "India's New Royal Visitor : The Ameer of Afghanistan - His Highness Habibullah Khan."

Habibullah Khan, the reigning Ameer of Afghanistan, was born in 1872 and succeeded his father, Abdur Rahman Khan, in 1901. He bears a great resemblance to his father but is built on smaller lines. He has a slight impediment in his speech, the result of an attempt upon his life when he was a child. He reads and speaks English although he considers the use of it undignified ; he also speaks Arabic, Hindustani, and Persian. Mr. Angus Hamilton declares that he does not possess a very secure seat on the throne, the intrigues of the Queen-mother and the jelousy of his brothers disturbing him.
