This very interesting portrait of Her Majesty Queen Mary which appears on this page was painted in 1887 by Mrs. Hobson. Mrs. Hobson was accorded sittings by Her Majesty at White Lodge, Richmond Park, and the original is a delicate water-colour drawing of the same size as the reproduction seen above. Special interest is lent to the picture by the fact that it has never before been reproduced, and now appears exclusively in "Black & White's Coronation Souvenir." The Artist Mrs. Hobson was the sister of the late James Hardy, R.I.
