The Planet comes nearest to the earth during the course of to-morrow (Saturday) although it has passed the point when the earth and Mars are in a direct line with the Sun. Owing to the eccentricity of the orbit of Mars it approaches still nearer to the earth although we have got a little ahead of the planet on our orbital journey. The planet is now a large telescopic object compared with its small appearance when at its farthest point from the earth.
