Last Journey of Queen Victoria : Leaving the Castle for Frogmore. 1901

For Sale is a Full Page from "The Sphere," February 16th, 1901, showing a Photograph for "The Last Journey of Queen Victoria," showing her "Leaving the Castle for Frogmore."

The picture, taken by Russell, shows the funeral procession on the way to the mausoleum at Frogmore on February 4. At 3 p.m. the coffin, preceded by the Bishop of Winchester, was borne by the bearer company, composed of non-commissioned officers of the Guards, from the Albert Memorial Chapel and placed on the gun-carriage. All the mourners walked, Queen Alexandra holding Prince Edward of York by the hand. The afternoon was sunny.
