The Top Engraving shows the following 5 Sketches and is called, -- "The Recent Excavations in Rome - Discovery of the House of the Vestal Virgins." 

   a- General view of the Excavations which are being made between the Forum and the Palace of the Caesars.

   b- The Flooring of one of the Vestals' Bedchambers.

   c- The large Hall of Atrium of the Vestals' Palace.

   d- Three Tablets, just Excavated, bearing Inscriptions to certain Vestals.

   e- A fragment of Marble Pavement in the Atrium.
